The New Forest Outdoor Centre is owned and operated by Activate Outdoors Ltd (company registration number 3201193). We are passionate about providing high quality outdoor experiences and excel using outdoor activities to provide experiences for personal growth. Activate Outdoors has been running outdoor experiential team programmes since 1996 and the New Forest Outdoor Centre was established soon after this to support our work. The centre is a based around a rustic timber clad barn in the middle of a woodland environment.
Activate Outdoors is owner managed by Matt King and Rob Crates. Matt has an outdoor skills back ground and is considered a technical expert in ropes related activities; Rob has a background in outdoor development training and outdoor centre management.
Since establishing the New Forest Outdoor Centre, Activate Outdoors has pioneered the Big Canoe Project in Poole harbour, building 10m long canoes capable of carrying 12 adults and a helm.
In February 2014 Activate Outdoors acquired Brenscombe Outdoor Centre (company registration number 3536955), near Corfe Castle, Dorset to further develop the business and give us more choice for working with our groups. Brenscombe is based in a converted old Purbeck stone farm and can accommodate 140 people.
The New Forest Outdoor Centre Team
The New Forest Outdoor Centre is managed day to day by Harry Palmer who is responsible for ensuring that all our programmes are delivered to the highest standard. He is supported by Julie Griffin (Office Manager) and Simon Hearn who looks after the hospitality of guests and the upkeep of the venue.
The Brenscombe Outdoor Centre Team
Brenscombe is managed by Phil Palmer who is supported at a senior level by Kelly Evans (Programme Coordinator), Jonny Ray (Training and Development) and Ali Wason (Office Manager). There are a number of additional permanent staff who run the centre throughout the year, bolstered by a carefully selected seasonal team.
